5 Best Summer Activities in Wisconsin

Apostle Islands National Lakeshore

Looking for some fun in the sun and scenic beauty? Apostle offers a gorgeous island escape…well, 21 islands to be exact. Dotting along the waters of Lake Superior, this cluster of islands offers a picturesque setting for hiking, kayaking, camping, or boating with friends.

If you’ve been cooped up like many of us, this is the perfect Wisconsin staycation getaway to help reset your mind and body this summer.

The City of Green Bay

If nature isn’t really your thing, or you’d like to see some downtown entertainment, be sure to visit the City of Green Bay. This is the ultimate staycation for your fellow Packers fanatics, but there’s much more to see in the city than just Lambeau Field or the Hall of Fame—though we definitely recommend you put them on your bucket list.

You can also explore the Green Bay Botanical Garden, the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, or the Bay Beach Amusement Park for fun with the family.

Let’s also not forget that Green Bay is packed with delicious restaurants, breweries, hotels and airbnbs to accommodate you during your stay! Whether you stay a weekend or week, you’ll have plenty of things to do in this top city!

Harley-Davidson Museum

Do you really need another reason to visit the City of Milwaukee? No, we didn’t think so. But if you’re looking to take the hog out for a Midwest road trip with friends, make sure you head toward the Harley-Davidson Museum to discover the history of this iconic brand and how it continues to evolve even today!

While in town, be sure to take a quick ride over to the historic Miller Brewery for a tour and a refreshing tasting! There’s really so many things to do in Milwaukee, WI, that it’s hard to focus on only a few, but if we had to name our top favorites, we’d recommend the Milwaukee County Zoo, the public market, American Family Field, and the Fiserv Forum. The choices are up to you, but once you arrive, you’ll be surrounded by endless options to spend your day!

Wisconsin Dells

Wisconsin really is the ultimate summer destination, and locals know why. Wisconsin Dells has all the theme parks, water rides, theaters, and outdoor attractions you could ever want, all in one convenient location.

Looking for a fun adventure the entire family will love? One of our favorite things about staying about Wisconsin Dells is the hotels and lodging are all conveniently located around the park areas, with some even featuring water slides inside the hotel lobbies. You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy water slides, amusement park rides, games, concerts, and all the entertainment you can expect while you’re there.

Camping in Hayward, WI

If you love being by the water, fishing, or bicycling on nearby trails, check out one of Wisconsin’s best kept secrets. The City of Hayward offers peaceful surrounds for camping and late night bonfires with a convenient downtown strip just a short walk away. Lined with local shops and boutiques, including a candy shop that features the world’s best gummy bears and hand-dipped chocolates, Hayward creates an ideal setting for those looking for a much needed break from city living, but it’s not too far off the grid, that you can’t enjoy fun amenities, like the local Angry Minnow brewery or the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame (named one of the top 5 best hall of fames in the nation).

Plus, because this area loves visitors, there are plenty of nearby camps, cabins, and hotels nearby to help you enjoy a restful night’s sleep after a long day of outdoor adventure.
