New service in Cedar Rapids provides greater access to destinations across the Midwest and Eastern U.S.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA — Effective June 30, 2026, Jefferson Lines will launch enhanced intercity bus service connecting Cedar Rapids with Iowa City, Williamsburg, Des Moines, Waterloo, Dubuque, Mason City, Clear Lake, Chicago and Minneapolis. 

The new route strengthens transportation options throughout Iowa while providing convenient connections to Jefferson Lines’ national network. Travelers will have easier access to destinations in and beyond Iowa, including Minneapolis, Chicago and connections to Washington D.C., New York City, Baltimore and other eastern cities. 

Passengers traveling from Cedar Rapids will depart from the Eastern Iowa Airport, a central location with access to public transit. The location provides seamless access for travelers throughout the area.
