Jefferson Lines to Continue Intercity Bus Service for Iowa Communities

Service to remain available for key Iowa cities and surrounding areas.

DES MOINES, IA — Effective September 28, 2025, Jefferson Lines will assume operation of key routes within Iowa’s intercity bus network—ensuring continued access to vital transportation links previously served by Burlington Trailways. This transition underscores Jefferson Lines’ long-standing commitment to connecting communities across the Midwest.

The company will serve the communities of Burlington, Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Fort Madison, Iowa City, Keokuk, Marshalltown, Monroe, Mt. Pleasant, Ottumwa, Oskaloosa, and Walcott. Many existing schedules and stop locations will be maintained, allowing travelers to experience a seamless transition backed by Jefferson Lines’ more than 100 years of delivering safe, reliable, and comfortable travel.
