Terms and Conditions

When using internet tickets, you must travel on the exact dates and times purchased from the exact locations purchased. You must present an ID along with your electronic ticket in order to board the bus.

Ticket Limitations & Restrictions

All Jefferson Lines refundable and non-refundable tickets can be purchased online, in person at your local station, or over the phone. All Jefferson Lines tickets expire and hold no value after their date and time of travel. Tickets are non-transferable and, if presented for transportation by any person other than the one for whom originally purchased, will be voided and may be confiscated by a Jefferson Lines agent or authorized employee of any bus carrier over which the ticket is issued. Jefferson Lines will not be responsible for lost or stolen tickets. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Jefferson Lines does not guarantee arrival and departure times and will not be responsible for delays caused by breakdowns, road conditions, weather, or other conditions beyond the carrier’s control. Jefferson Lines does not cover lodging or accrued travel expenses when situations occur outside of the carrier’s control, but will do their best to reschedule passengers on the next available route.

Unaccompanied Minor (Ages 12 through 16)

Jefferson Lines prohibits unaccompanied minors from travelling alone without an adult, 17 years or older, unless in accordance with the carrier’s unaccompanied minor travel policy, as stated on the Traveling With Kids page.

Passenger Conduct, Attire & Hygiene

Jefferson Lines expects all passengers to maintain a standard of conduct that ensures a safe and respectful travel environment. Passengers must adhere to basic standards of decency and hygiene. Individuals may be refused boarding or removed from the bus if their attire or personal condition poses an unreasonable risk of offense or disruption to others. This includes, but is not limited to, being barefoot, wearing clothing that is lewd, revealing, or otherwise inappropriate, exhibiting poor hygiene or strong odors, or appearing intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. Passengers must not interfere with the depot personnel, drivers or other travelers and are expected to behave respectfully throughout their journey.

Interstate Baggage Liability

Jefferson Lines expressly disclaims liability for any lost or damaged baggage and for any injuries caused by or resulting from shifting baggage. Passengers should keep baggage, including any personal belongings, in their possession at all times. Jefferson Lines does not check bags and does not assume any responsibility for the safe and secure transport of bags over its routes. Baggage must comply with Jefferson Lines’ baggage allowances and restrictions, available on our baggage policy page. Certain articles are not accepted for carriage. Visit our baggage policy page for a list of items, which are not accepted. Passengers are responsible for properly tagging and identifying their baggage, including name and address. Passengers wishing to stow baggage in an under-bus baggage compartment do so at their own risk and may only place bags in such compartments with a company staff member present. Storage charges apply for baggage left at a Jefferson Lines location. Passengers requiring special assistance with their baggage should speak with a staff member at a ticketing counter to make necessary arrangements.

Identification of Baggage

Government Regulation and Carrier’s Tariffs require that all baggage must be properly identified. Luggage Tags should clearly show the name and address to which lost baggage should be forwarded. Free luggage tags are available at all ticket windows and baggage counters. Place your name and address inside and outside your luggage. Please reclaim your baggage promptly upon arrival.
