New service in Williamsburg provides greater access to destinations across the Midwest and Eastern U.S.

WILLIAMSBURG, IA — Effective June 30, 2026, Jefferson Lines will launch a new intercity bus service for Williamsburg, Iowa with routes to and from Des Moines, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Dubuque, Mason City, Clear Lake, Chicago and Minneapolis. 

The new route strengthens transportation options throughout Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota while improving connections to Jefferson Lines’ national network. Travelers gain easier access to destinations in and beyond Iowa, including Minneapolis, Chicago and connections to Washington D.C., New York City, Baltimore and many more destinations in the eastern U.S. 

Passengers traveling from Williamsburg will depart from the McDonald’s located at 235 220th St., Williamsburg, IA 52361 at 2:20 p.m. The central location provides convenient access to intercity transportation for Williamsburg and surrounding communities. 

By connecting and improving travel connections within Iowa and enhancing service to connection points like Chicago, the new stop offers residents and visitors a straightforward and reliable transportation option throughout the Midwest.
